P-Series for Thermography Consultants : Looking for the best IR camera available As a well-trained, certified expert, companies call you in to inspect their assets and trace anomalies which are invisible to the naked eye. You work in various locations and settings, often under time-pressure and in difficult circumstances.
To focus on your job you need a state-of-the-art IR camera that you can rely on, that will perform and generate results, and that is easy to handle.
FLIR Systems understands your needs, and is confident that the P-Series is the best and most complete handheld IR camera for professional thermography consultants.
Why the P660 is ideal for Thermography Consultants: • Extended temperature range allowing measurements up to +1,500 °C • Wireless remote control for hazardous inspections • Video streaming via FireWire output • Image storage on a removable 1 GB SD Card • A large set of lenses and accessories P-Series in the Utilities sector: An essential, cost-effective tool
Utility companies across the globe use infrared imagery every day to analyze facilities and to gain efficiencies for daily operations. As a thermographer at a utility company, you may work in remote locations or tough environments. You may have to inspect small details at longer distances, from the ground or even airborne. You will be required to work fast. And you have to provide good quality imaging.
The durability, reliability and dependability of the P-Series mean that these cameras are ideal for all your indoor and outdoor thermographic applications in the utilities sector.
Why the P-Series is ideal in Utilities applications:
• 640x480 pixel resolution to inspect small objects at a distance • Wireless Remote control to inspect areas that are hazardous or difficult to access • GPS for localization, data transfer, and easier re-inspections • Viewfinder for outdoor inspections • Picture-in-Picture function to highlight sensitive areas
P-Series for Industrial manufacturing applications: Saving costs, limbs and lives Your role as a thermographer at a production or manufacturing plant will involve measuring heat generation in machines and installations, detecting and preventing “creeping” breakdowns. Flexibility and focus is required, both from you and your camera. You may have to operate – and the camera has to function properly – in confined, remote, dark, poorly accessible areas. The camera should also be able to take an infrared film sequence video. Reporting is key: local maintenance management decides what’s too hot, and what can be delayed until the next inspection round. They need this info ASAP, clear and correct.
To meet all these varying requirements, there is only one solution: the P-Series.
Why the P-Series is ideal for Industrial applications: • Extended temperature range allowing measurements up to +1,500 °C • Wireless remote control for enhanced safety and ergonomics • Wide range of lenses available • Voice comments with Bluetooth technology • Compatibility with FLIR Reporter© and Researcher© software suites
P660
The P660 is the latest and most functionality-rich addition to the P-Series, with additional features such as: • 45 mK sensitivity at an accuracy of +/- 1% • Built-in GPS • Voice and text comments • Enhanced accuracy (1%) • 3 Megapixel digital camera • Thermal Fusion • Contrast Optimizer B-Series top of the range infrared cameras for building applications
The B 620 and B660 are the best possible infrared cameras for building and construction applications. Common features include dew point, humidity and insulation defect alarms. The B660 offers an integrated GPS system and Contrast Optimizer
SC Series The SC Series SC620 and SC660 are mobile cameras for product development and R&D applications. They offer fully radiometric 14-bit real time imagery stream to the PC via FireWire
Hardware: powerful infrared lens, digital camera, foldable screen, target illuminator, smart laser pointer
The FLIR P660 camera consists of strong hardware that make scanning fast and efficient.
A large diameter lens means more IR radiation reaches the detector, resulting in crisp IR images. The high-precision germanium lenses with integral USM focusing mechanism are designed to take full advantage of the 640x480 pixel FPA detector. The camera can be manually focused by turning the lens ring or by autofocus.
A 3.2 megapixel visual camera provides clear and detailed visual evidence that can be stored with and assigned to the infrared images.
A 5.6” large and bright, foldable LCD screen presents sharp imagery. The screen can be placed in practically every angle enabling you to adjust it to the most difficult working conditions.
A built-in powerful lamp provides comfort in dark inspection areas.
The P660 comes with an integrated laser pointer that safely and quickly associates the hot or cold spot on the IR image with the real physical target in the field.
Global Positioning System: locate your infrared imagery
FLIR has integrated a GPS into the P660 which allows to clearly position the inspected area and to mark and exactly assign infrared imagery to that area.
The integrated GPS adds value to reporting and maintenance in the utilities, energy, telecom, mining, facility management, logistics and other sectors that have to deal with inspection objects scattered over larger areas.
The system enables technicians to view, analyze and directly localize infrared imagery from many different locations easily and quickly. It will also guide inspection and field repair teams to the correct location when the area involves a remote, hard to access region or place, or when maps are out of date.
Picture-in-Picture (PiP) : highlight your findings
The FLIR P660 carries a function which allows to overlay the infrared image on the visual image while retaining all measurement data. The infrared image can be panned and scaled freely throughout the available visual image. As all measurement data are retained, the PiP function carries a threshold command that allows to highlight areas in the infrared mode below, above or between a defined threshold. This feature helps to spot and highlight sensitive or dangerous temperature developments so that immediate action can be taken.
Contrast Optimizer: more to see, les to adjust
The Contrast Optimizer is a special algorithm that enhances details in contrast-rich infrared imagery. Experienced users use level and span to present a clear image. But when a small span is used, the surroundings of the interesting object disappears. The Contrast Optimizer optimizes the level and span adjustment and enables to view both the scanned object and its surroundings.
Thermal Fusion: best of both vision worlds
Thermal Fusion merges visual and infrared imagery. All measurement functions remain active in both view modes. The Thermal Fusion function is also available for sequenced image material.
Thermal Fusion is a great function to highlight temperature anomalies and a major asset for scanning of objects that require a detailed and focused follow up and imaging of temperature developments. ThermaFusion is a available on the FLIR P-series camera range and in the ThermaCAM Reporter™ software.
Wireless Remote control: Protect yourself, protect your camera
Professional infrared camera users often work in places that are difficult to access.
FLIR has come up with a remote control that allows to steer all vital functions of the infrared as well as the visual camera from a safe distance in a wireless mode.
The system, which also allows making MPEG videos, will benefit and optimize applications in research and development, mechanical and electrical inspections, or process monitoring.
* The wireless remote control is an optional feature
Flexible interfaces
Fast access to composite video connection, USB, FireWire, and a direct connection to charge the battery inside the camera. Text comments can be uploaded to the camera through an IrDa interface. A headset can be connected for voice annotations
Dual storage possibility
JPEG and/or MPEG images are saved on removable SD cards. Thousands of images can be easily stored on these high-capacity SD cards. Two SD Card slots are available.
Easy connectivity
USB or FireWire connections allow for fast download of full radiometric 14-bit JPEG images or streaming of non-radiometric IR video to your PC.
Intelligent battery system
The Li-Ion battery of the P-Series gives the user an autonomy of over 3 hours IR inspections. The battery can be charged while still in the camera, in a 2-bay charger or in a car, on the way to your next job.
Accessories
The P-Series can be used with a complete range of accessory lenses including close-up, wide angle, telescopic and microscopic lenses to suit the most demanding applications.
For clear identification of inspected objects it is important that the picture captured with the built-in digital camera has the highest possible quality. That’s why the P-Series is equipped with interchangeable optics for the digital camera. Other accessories include extra battery chargers, extension cables and memory cards.
